In Jan 2010 I signed a contract for a rental property with Omni Property Management in Herndersonville Before signing a contract I did walk through. The day of the walk through it was snowing pretty bad & no one was able to let me in; however, one of the managers gave me the code to the lock pad to let myself in & stayed with me on the phone as he described each room. Over the course of time If I had any problems Omni was prompted to help me. The trouble didn't come in until they had to consult with the owner of the home before doing anything. The owner didn't really want to take responsibility for his own home, yet wanted me to fix things out of my own pocket. I had a struggle getting the water heater replaced as it broke down twice before the owner decided to buy another one. The furnace & electricity was another problem. Many times the lights would go out in one specific room & The furnace stopped working in the summer time. The maintenance crew was great about coming out to always help fix, but also advised the wiring in the home was old & needed to be done all over again; however, that would be left up to the owner (FIGURES). At the end of my contract I let Omni know I was moving & they gave me the necessary information I needed to have in my inspection list to get back my security deposit. After a week of leaving the home I got the inspection list I was totally blown away with some of the thing I was being charged for....replacing door stops, toilet seat covers, etc. I contacted Omni toilet them know it was my responsibility to replace those types of things. Once again he had to consult with the owner who was trying to make me pay for things that wasn't my responsibilities & other items that was not there when I moved in. Overall Omni took care of the problem. I just wish Omni will make better decision on who they do business with..
