Review content:
I patronized Bob's for over twentyfive years, but I will never go in Bob's shop again. My last purchase was an M1 Garand which Bob's son told me was WWII. I then talked to the manager, Richard, and he told me it was all WWII except that it had been rebarreled with a '55 barrel. I bought it based on the fact that it was a WWII rifle with a '55 barrel. When I got it home I found that the serial number indicated it was manufactured in 1955. I took the rifle back the next day and I was told that they would take it back, but there would be a $20 restocking fee.\r
\r
Were they ignorant of the age of the rifle, or did they lie? Doesn't matter, they are a dealer and should know what they are selling. \r
\r
Either way, the rifle was misrepresented and I should not have to pay a restocking fee for their mistake.\r
\r
Bob is an honest man whom I have great respect for. I first bought from him in 1980. He would be very disappointed to know how his shop now operates.
Pros: Sales staff ignorant of products
Cons: Or sales staff lies about products
