Review content:
I am not sure who wrote the reviews on other travel sites, or if the place has severely declined since then, but it was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. It had the unfortunate distinction of being bad, reheated food, over-priced (relative to quality), and extremely small-portioned on top of inexperienced service. For example, I was given 5 mussels for $9, which were cold and old and had no white wine sauce as described. Our entire table was dissatisfied with entrees (rubbery pork, microwaved pasta, and canned tomato sauce). Their website is severely misleading as are the other reviews which must have been written by employees, friends of the owner or the owner himself. As summer residents of this area of Vermont I would suggest other options: Colatina or Perfect Pear in Bradford, or by far the best option being Carpenter and Main in Norwich (has a formal restaurant and excellent casual bistro). I hope this helps; I was motivated to write this only after I trusted these previous reviews that left me hopeful that I had found a new great restaurant; I hope I save people from the same misfortune that is Brown's Market Bistro.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Every else
