Review content:
The first time I went the ambiance was charming, the menu was fabulous, good coffee, etc. I looked forward to my breakfast. It then got worse. I got my food, an omelet with caramelized onions. I was very happy at first, then I saw a mysterious, flat, black thing in the onions, about the diameter of a golf ball. I took it out and, having worked in restaurants for years, recognized what it was. It was that hard layering of charcoal that collects on the sides of restaurant grills and pans. You know, the stuff that only comes off by geologic exfoliation or sandblasting. It was gross. I showed the waiter who showed the cook, who said it was an onion slice that was too well done. A boldface lie. I was offered neither compensation nor apology. The manger did not get involved, and the cook didn't care. Pros: relaxing, exotic menu Cons: charcoal in the food
