Businiess name:  John's Tailor Shop
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
My mom has been going to John for years. She said he was fine, not the best, but reasonably priced. Well, I sent my girlfriend there. He did a number of things wrong. She gave him three dresses; the one he totally botched was the most important one. First, he stained it, she gave it to him brand new, brand new, and he gave it back after he adjusted it with a couple small but noticeable stains on it, right when she got it from him she said to him. ""How did these get here?"" He literally blew her off and told her they were there, yeah right. His attitude was so blase. Second, all she wanted was to adjust the straps a little, and well, he did it too much, and because of her experience with John already she went somewhere else. So she brought it in to another shop, and the first thing the new tailor found was a sewing needle, A SEWING NEEDLE stitched into the dress where the straps were adjusted. Also, there were chalk marks on the straps from John's adjustments. He put the chalk marks on the outside, which anyone who has ever done any adjustments should know is a big no no. Bottom line is this, I have lived in La Jolla my whole life, and my mom has been going to him and others for years. After all this happened she told us that she really only goes there for minor adjustments, nothing really nice, but suffice to say she won't even go there for that anymore. Pros: cheap, not inexpensive Cons: rude, nonchalant staff
