After losing my favorite stylist to California, I spent three years looking for a replacement at what were supposed to be the best salons in Albuquerque. This resulted in with a lot of disappointment and some VERY bad haircuts. Finally, I tried Artistic Creations after reading the reviews on this site. I got an appointment with Amy Sandoval. Amy listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly the cut and highlight color I was hoping for, under the circumstance of working with the results of a VERY bad cut and color from my last salon experience. I was so happy with her that I was afraid it could not last-- but after 3 visits now I can report that Amy is fantastic at listening, takes criticism (what little I have ever had) well, is flexible, has a great sense of color, and is generally pleasant and easy to talk to. On my third visit she took the time to give me a tutorial on blow-drying--something I have had stylists do on the first visit, but never on return visits. The salon is nowhere near my work or home, but I am happy to go out of my way. The salon does not look as trendy as I am used to, but there is a genuine camaraderie among the stylists that made my visits especially enjoyable.I would also say that prices, while not cheap, are definitely fair for the quality of service. I have paid more for far less! I would recommend Amy to anyone who wants a top-notch stylist.
