Review content:
I brought in several items to be altered. I had relied on the ranking here to select the place. First, the alterations she did were ok, not great, ok. (I should have asked my grandmother instead but I thought I was paying a professional). The most frustrating thing was that I specifically asked that my pants not be cuffed (which by the way was the style the pants were when I brought them in- not cuffed). She is a tailor, not a fashion designer and these were nice clothes (Ann Taylor, Talbots Collection, etc.). I am short and thin, and I think cuffs make short people look shorter and stumpy- which by the way is correct based up the results. She was a little Russian woman who kept insisting that cuffs were better. I kept arguing that I DID NOT want cuffs. She kept insisting. I finally agreed that one pair could be cuffed, if I didn't like them, she would fix them back for free. I picked up my clothes and when i got home ALL 10 pairs had been cuffed- incuding a pair that was part silk which I am pretty sure cannot be fixed without ruining the fabric. Even though she said she would fix them for free I would not let this woman touch my clothing. On top of that, either one of my legs has been shorter than the other all of my life and I never noticed or EVERY pair of pants is shorter on one side than the other. I completely regret going there. I think its safe if you need a buttton sewed on; but if you need any more sophisticated alterations, go somewhere else. It was also paid $150 for 10 alterations- I don't know if that is a normal cost or not . Pros: Location Cons: quality, perhaps cost, and ruins clothes
