Cedars is totally unassuming from the outside, but when you step in, you are enveloped in an exotic atmosphere replete with beautiful rugs, low tables, middle eastern music, and delicious aromas from the kitchen. Marlene, the proprietress, is an extremely gracious and welcoming hostess, and a friendly ambassador for all things Lebanese. Her recommendations for dinner for two (nice variety of flavors and textures) and a Lebanese wine (who knew?) were spot on with my husband and I. We walked in without reservations on a Saturday night and were mesmerized by the fire-eating belly dancer. (We only wish our fellow patrons had the class not to tuck dollar bills into her skirt waistband.) After dinner, the pillows and rugs on the low banquette made for perfect reclining. Cedars is more than a dinner out. It's a cultural experience. Thank you, Marlene! We will be back.
Pros: Marlene is an outstanding hostess, and obviously takes pride in her establishment.
