Oh good Lord, where to even begin. Forget 1920's style speakeasy--it's more like a early 80's style waiting room at your dentist's office. The decor inside of the dining room is just awful. The walls are covered with shiny wallpaper that look like it belongs in your grandmother's bathroom, the tables and chairs look like they were purchased second hand from a Chinese restaurant that had gone out of business and the ugly carpeting is just filthy. The general appearance of this place is simply AWFUL. Shamefully the food isn't much better--it does, however, match the decor of the interior. Most of what you would eat here is the sort of of food you would find in a mid-priced restaurant about 20 years ago and half of the entree menu are veal dishes. I think the dessert was served with a side of veal. There is simply nothing interesting at all about the menu choices--I honestly think that Eat 'n' Park has more variety. The wine list reads like a who's who of trashy cheap wine at premium prices. Hope you like white zinfandel as it has nearly a page of it's own! If you would like a beer, you're out of luck unless you want Miller Light or some other toilet water variety. The only thing that the did have to offer was premium vodkas--but oh wait, they ran out after we had about four drinks! They push their ""fried cheesecake"" dessert like it's something innovative, but the sad reality is that it's just fried blobs of mushy hot cheesecake. Reminds me of some other 80's-era dishes that nobody serves any more like Baked Alaska and fried ice cream. Their chocolate torte tasted like it had more salt that chocolate in it and it looked like somebody stepped on it before they brought it to the table. My experience is that the Sewickley Speakeasy can't muster a single decent dish and that there is NO reason for anybody to ever go there. Ever. Really. It's just that bad. For $25 a plate entrees they need to do a hell of a lot better than what they currently do! NOTE: Went back with some friends because they didn't believe it could be so bad. It is still awful and I stand my ground that this place is disgusting. For all the ""good"" reviews out there, I can only presume they are written by the management or perhaps acquaintances thereof.
