Review content:
I went in to buy carpet for stairs only; I have hard wood flooring in the rest of the place. So Home depot wanted to charge me $570 total for 13 stairs!
Ridiculous, they said the $97 carpet install fee was the basic fee, and had to be added although I had no other carpet to be installed aside from the stairs. They also added an additional $97 for the stairs, I said since I'm not getting any rooms carpeted for the first $97 bucks, please just apply the $97 dollars to carpeting the stairs (that are already prepped and cleaned, with the old carpet removed and discarded. They said no that the first $97 dollar charge is ""automatic"" and in the computer and cannot be changed. Apparently Home Depot can't adjust prices (even for labor that is not taking place.) One salesman said , ""the job is too small"" to adjust, another salesgirl told me ""that's just the way it is, it's in the computer""
Poor customer service with a myriad of excuses from the almost ""super pads"", to the double labor charge for much less work, all led to wasted time, a wasted $50 measure fee. All Home Depot had were excuses of why the bill was high with no explanation, besides ""automatic"" charges. Two different sales people called 3 different managers and didn't seem motivated to explain that paying almost $600 dollars for 13 stairs was absurd. I just finally went to ""Lowe's"" in Mission Valley who were happy to do the order, grand total $375. Lowe's charged the same $97 and made the additional ""stairs"" charge $00.01, yes 1 cent because they could. (Humans are actually in control of the computers and orders there. Home Depot - Fairmount was terrible, I even went to Home Depot in Lemon Grove thinking they were having a bad day at Home Depot Fairmount, same result - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME or money, learn from my lesson. I saved $200 bucks on a ""small"" job, by taking my Estimate to Lowe's.
Pros: None, really not one
Cons: Rude, takes long to get bad service
