Review content:
Trying to find a spice cake here in the south is almost impossible. No people, it's not the same as carrot cake. So when my birthday rolled around, I gave my husband the almost impossible task of finding my favorite cake - yep, spice.\r
\r
He finally got a yes they do make it at Sugarland, which was recommended by someone he knew. He ordered the cake, and I must say, it looked fab.\r
\r
Then I cut into it. First thing wrong was that it had lemon filling! Really? That is so wrong on so many counts in the world of Spice Cakes.\r
\r
Scraping the lemon out of my piece, I tried the cake. The frosting was absolutely delicious. The cake - moist, but so bland it could have been pulped cardboard for all I knew. Spice cake is distinctively spicy - never bland. I was so disappointed that I didn't want to try that bakery again. It was expensive and they do not know how to make spice cake.\r
\r
Motto: Don't say you can do it if you can't.
Pros: great frosting, large cake
Cons: LEMON FILLING, bland cake, expensive
