Absolutely HORRIBLE company. My late husband insisted we use this company as Joe Barry, Sr. was an acquaintance of his. The company is run by his daughters. One February, the middle of winter, their automatic system was not working and oil was not delivered to our home. I have three small children, the youngest at the time, a small toddler still in diapers. Our tank was Empty and we were Freezing. I called and asked why our tank was allowed to run dry and was told that their automatic system had malfunctioned. Fine. Could they please deliver ASAP? I was told by the woman on the phone (I believe her name was Linda) that she didn't ""like the tone"" of my voice. She proceeded to Scream at me, and tell me that I had been late making payments in the past. Not True. I asked about my account status and she could confirm that it was indeed current, no payments were due. She screamed and yelled at me, swore and verbally abused me like she was completely out of her mind. (In the past my husband had talked to her father about the unprofessional practices of his children and he shrugged, said he's heard it all before, and that there was nothing he could do about it). Despite the fact that our bills were current, my home and children were Freezing, this woman REFUSED to send oil out to my home - she did not ""like (my) attitude"". She was an ABSOLUTE BULLY. I will never forget this incident as long as I live. Our credit was always pristine and we were good customers. My husband called her and she Lied to him, twisted the story around completely. He knew she was lying - he had known and heard stories about her for years. The father, Joe Barry, did a HORRIBLE job r aising his children. If any of my children Ever spoke to another human being the way this woman treated me, I certainly would feel as though I failed as a parent. I have been with another since this incident and we've enjoyed a wonderful, mutually beneficial business arrangement since; could not be more satisfied. But the fact remains that these people were Abusive and COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. My husband has since passed away and this woman knows Full Well that she lied to him, abused his wife and put our young children in peril. It is ILLEGAL to refuse oil to a young family and Joe Barry Oil Co., Wilmington, MA did. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE people Stay Away.
