My personal experence with Lav's auto body and the owner Dennis. I am an elderly man and I brought a 1938 Packard to Lav's auto body with minor front end collision damage. I was told by Lav's that they would repair the damage and will do superior quailty work , all work is quaranteed and it would take 7 days. Five months later the car was ready. When I went to pick it up the repairs were poor quality and even had cracks in the repairs. Instead of welding the torn sheet metal from the accident they simply bondoed over it and it cracked before I even picked up the car and there were other defects as well. I told Dennis the repairs were not acceptable. He fixed some of the problems. When I went to pick up the car I gave him a check for the full amount of his invoice. He accepted the check and then told me to sign here. On his invoice he wrote.. No quarantees on the above work. I explained to Dennis that was not what I was told and would not sign that. Dennis then got very hostle and damaded I sign it or he will not release the car and will charge $35.00 per day storage until I signed it. I refused and he told me to get out of his office. I filed a complaint with the police, they went to his shop and told Dennis that he must release the car as he was paid in full for all work and it is unlawfull to hold the car. Would you trust you car to a person like this. After I got the car back and had the opportunity to carefully look it over I found numerous shoddy work, damage to the car and the crack came back after one day. I can't understand it. Dennis made a huge profit on the repairs and yet Dennis attempted to defraud me out of all quarantees on his work. After doing business with Lav's auto body and Dennis, my opinion is... that he acted very unprofessional, committed fraud against me and unlawfullly held the car, proformed shoddy work but charged top dollar, Dennis was so cheap he nickel and dimed me on everything. He even went out of his way to ad $3.18 to the bill which was thousands of dollars when he found a mistake in the original estimate. Based on my experience with Dennis I would never recommend Lav's auto body to anyone.
