Review content:
In Asheville on vacation, and this was our first dinner in town. I was aiming for any place that had a good beer assortment, and this won partially based on the fact that it was visible from our hotel and we wouldn't get too lost.
It was a good choice. The house porter was fantastic, and they also had a small but discerning Scotch and whisky list.
The Ploughman's Lunch from the appetizer menu was the most amazing combo of flavors, and quite filling in it's own right. We also tried the Scotch eggs, because, well, why wouldn't we? Too rich and fatty to be a dietary staple, but damn fine for a vacation treat. We split the Shepherd's Pie, also delicious, though husband thought it could have been bigger. I thought it was nicely sized, enough to finish without feeling overly full.
Ambiance was nice - dark with some corners but not really dive-y. We missed out on the music, can't speak to that particular attraction.
