If you want to shop for toys that are educational -- but hide it well, then Learning Express is a great place to shop.
This independent shop is great at researching toys that kids will love to learn with. I found the best card game for my 4 year old while walking through with my coffee after shopping at Safeway.
They are not the low cost leader, but you will definitely not have to deal with the Toys R Us crowds either.
