Businiess name:  Waldo's BBQ

Review content:
This restaurant made for a great experience and tasty food. The original Waldo’s is located in central Mesa just East of Greenfield on Main Street. If you are in the mood for decent quality cheap BBQ, crazy atmosphere, and interesting wait staff the original Waldo’s is for you.\r The first thing I must tell you all about is the ambiance. This place is like stepping into a time warp. It is set up like a little diner in a small town where everybody knows everybody and the staff has worked there for ever. In addition these people are very proud of being free, meat eating, gun toting Americans as the stuffed animals and signage explains. I love this aspect of the place and in my experience every one that has been there enjoys it also. I have found that most people get a kick out of just reading the multitude of signs and sayings plastered all over the walls and even the ceiling.\r Now as far as the food goes, it is not the worst and not the best I have ever had. With that being said it is one of my top 5 favorite BBQ places in AZ. Waldo’s has the typical BBQ place menu with a variety of meats and cuts for your liking. As a self considered expert on BBQ and someone who has tried almost everything on the menu at Waldo’s. I would say the best thing on the menu as far as taste and value is “The Pig” which translates to the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich consists of pork butt and shoulder meat which is dry rubbed with a plethora of spices then deliciously smoked, sauced and put on a deli style bun. The sandwich also comes with a side that is bottomless. As far as the side goes I recommend the grilled veggie side which is bell pepper (red, yellow, green) onion, zucchini, squash, with a special seasoning and then grilled and did I mention bottomless. Awesome!!\r In closing I would have to say that Waldo’s BBQ is a prime example of the saying “you get what you pay for”. It is great food that is matched very well to the price. I think it's the overall aesthetics are what draws me to this place because I feel like you are dining in some diner in an old small town.\r
