Review content:
Aamodt's is a beautiful setting, but overpriced. We paid $10 for a bag to go pick apples, but the apple trees were already overpicked and what was left were very small, pocked, and not appealing at all. Although there was no admission fee, we had to pay to do anything on the property: $2/hayride, $4/pony ride, and they actually charged $1/person to let kids run around in hay bales or $2/person to ride a tractor trike! Seemed like price gouging to me. Although others have posted the staff was friendly, I didn't find that to be our experience at all -- when asking for clarification/directions regarding apple picking, the woman was actually quite rude, quick, and just kind-of shrugged me off. There also was no signage indicating where to pick, the cost of activities, etc. Overall, we had an okay time because of the beautiful day and the good company, but we won't go back again. We'll go back to Afton Apple or check out Pine Tree in White Bear Lake next year.
Pros: atmosphere, setting, location
Cons: cost, bad apples
