Review content:
For the money Gold's Gym might be a deal. However that depends on what you are looking for. Although they have lots and lots of equipment there is actually so much that you can not spread out without triping over a machine that you will probably never use. Forget an indoor track, pool, stretch area, or sports courts that you can find at other gyms. Instead it is just you and the machines. But what can you expect from a place that has made its money off of large muscle jocks that have no time to stretch or walk. And believe me, if you are like me then people are way too good for you. They make sure that you know that too. Standing at the door everyday, too inconvienced to say hi politely. Or perhaps they will have someone sitting in the dressing room while you are trying to change watching the basketball game. What does it matter to them that you would like privacy. While the cost of a single person membership maybe cheap compared to some other places, they will nickle and dime you at every corner. With a yearly fee to buy even more equipment (although honestly I didnt actually see any new equipment at my gym, it must have gone to one of the hundreds of new locations opening) and a fee of $10 for a new plastic barcode id after it falls off your key chain after 3 years. You know they type they give you at krogers for free. Well at golds they cost $10, and you have to have one (its required). Because if everyone had to be checked in that would take away time from the clerks solitare time on the computer.\r

But still despite all of this, there are enough Gold's Gym that if you ever move there is probably one in 25 miles from where you are. And you can be sure to get the same experience there. Wall to wall with machines, and really big people. That is the good thing about a solid franchise.
