i had heard much about this place, from being the city's finest to being over-priced. recently i had the chance to find out first hand... \r

first, the amuse bouche - a sort of egg & truffle custard served in an eggshell. it was amazing tasting! the flavors were perfectly fused & balanced, and i just wanted it to last forever. a good sign. next, for appetizers we had foie gras three ways, and the jumbo lump crab w/ truffle gnocchi. foie gras was nicely plated, however none of the three ways were grilled, so it was basically the same texture three times. the gnocchi was *excellent* in flavor, just the right amount of truffle, cream, crab -- but it was 20 bucks. the online menu lists it at 12, but they say now its a higher grade of truffle. im opposed to $20 apps; i think i would prefer it at 12, as im not sure id be able to discern the difference. salad was nice, tho i dont remember what it was. for an entree i had the rabbit & lobster pasta roll (cant remember its name); at first glance it appeared small, but it was rich enough to sate my appetite, and i was glad it wasnt any larger. the desserts were definitely on the weak side, nothing really leapt out at us. we had one but it was unmemorable.\r

the wait staff were obviously highly trained -- our head waiter had just about the right level of aloofness, countered w/ attentive servers underneath him. no complaints.
Pros: some excellent dishes
Cons: a miss or two, definately pricey
