I went to Tax Mom on Wilson Rd., W.Columbus for help with my taxes. I had been preparing them myself for the last 5 years but was worried, with all the new tax changes, I might miss something and do them wrong. The person who prepared mine came back to me the 1st time that I owed $149 to the IRS. I told her that was impossible, then she started telling me that if I don't have enough taxes taken from my pay it wasn't her fault. I asked her again to look at all my documentation I porovided, she continued to tell me that I didn't need everything I had been using in prior years. I asked to see the 1040 form for review, she wouldn't let me. I pointed out some credits I should be receiving and she finally agreed to input one of them. She then said I would get back $179 from the IRS. I told her she was still missing my credit and my donations. She then proceeded to ask another woman to come and help her explain why I was getting so little. This woman input the credit I requested and found I would be getting back $1300 from the IRS. I asked to review the form again, was told no and like an idiot I signed the form, paid my $100 and left. I did my own taxes the next day with Turbo Tax and I'm going to have to file an aamended return because they didn't file my schedule A, they only gave me a standard deduction, I will be getting an extra $500 back from where i double checked their work. I am telling everyone I know how terrible I was treated there. Pros: If you want to pay money you don't owe, go here Cons: If you want the money you earned, go to someone else
