Review content:
My husband and I traveled from Philly to spend a weekend in Baltimore, and we made Saturday night reservations here because we read that it was one of the best restaurants in Baltimore. From the beginning, things went wrong. We had a reservation for 9pm, and weren't seated until 9:45. While we waited at the bar for 45 minutes, the hostess didn't apologize once, explain what the delay was, or even offer to check our coats! [The bartender did give us a free drink, though, which was good]. \r \r When we were finally seated in the dining room (which was inexplicably half-empty, even though we were forced to sit at the bar for 45 minutes), we were seated at a small table in a dark corner, even though it was the end of the night and there were better tables available. \r \r The food was not very good. My husband got a salad with what was supposed to be a parmesan cracker, but the cracker was sour, bitter and just awful -- it didn't even taste like food. I told the waitress that there was something seriously wrong with the cracker, and she might want to tell the chef to make sure they didn't serve it to anyone else, and she responded that it was ""a toasted parmesan cracker, and that's the way that it tastes when they cook it."" Who knows if she ever told the chef, because we never got an apology or even any acknowledgment of the complaint. \r \r The issues that we had with the food and the service were so bad that I assume that someone important must have called out sick that night. But still, the mark of a good restaurant (and one of the reasons why you pay so much to go to them) is how the staff and managers work to make sure that you have the best experience possible even when things don't go as planned. Louisiana certainly failed in this respect. Pros: Nice decor Cons: Service, food
