Review content:
My husband and I went here to celebrate his new job and the food, ambience, wine list, and service was excellent! Which of course means, a very expensive bill. But you get what you pay for at La Foret. We both had the same thing - the smaller tasting menu. After laughing at the single ravioli we both received, we both enjoyed it very much. Followed by single scallops, and then a seared ahi tuna, quail, and beef filet. All of which was serviced to us happily and with an explanation of the sauces and ingredients used.\r
The wine list was excellent and the dessert was a mouth watering creme brulee in a small chocolate bowl with vanilla ice cream underneath.\r
The location is up and out in to the Alameda hills a ways and the restaurants sits on top of the creek. Pretty scenery but not as good as Shadowbrook in Capitola.\r
This was definitly a once a year adventure for us. We love our food and wine but would rather put our money toward a house than dinner and alcohol. A good selection for a romantic dinner, or celebration of some sort.
Pros: delicious food, interesting sauce pairings, wine list, service
Cons: price
