Review content:
My husband and I dined at Louisiana this past weekend, it was our first and only visit. \r When we arrived we were greeted by a smug host. From there we were promptly seated. We started w/ a bottle of wine, it was delicious. The wine list is slightly more extensive than average for what you typically find in Baltimore. However, the wines by the glass did not provide you w/ any information other than the type of wine they were offering (ie ? Cab Sav, Pinot Noir) We ordered a salad and appetizer to share and it was very disappointing that both dishes came out at the same time, when clearly the salad should have been presented first. We started w/ the beet salad, it was good but nothing to rave about. We moved on to the shrimp and grits ? it was delicious. This was the highlight of the evening. We then each had our meals, but it was a 20+ minute wait from appetizer to dinner. I had the duck, it was very tough. And my husband had the catfish, it was incredibly fishy. We do not eat red meat or pork so there were very limited options for us to choose from. The atmosphere is unique, but it almost feels like it should be a wedding reception venue as opposed to romantic dining. I also noticed cobwebs in the corners of the ceilings and hallways (not decorations, but real spider webs.) All in all, this is a restaurant we will cross off our list.\r
