Review content:
I decided to check out a Tuesday night practice in late Feburary of this year, since I was interested in joining a derby league. I haven't skated in 30 years, was in my mid 40's and was quite nervous about joining something that I thought was for much younger women. To my surprise and delight, I was warmly welcomed and discovered that a good number of the league was in their 40's also! I came back the next week, and have been going 2-3x a week ever since! Amazing support group for a newbee, wonderful teaching and coaching - TRUE team dynamics! I went looking for a new form of exercise and a ""hobby"" - what I now have is a new sense of pride for what I have learned and accomplished over the last few months, a feeling of being powerful, better fitting jeans, and the best part is that I am not just part of a league or team, I am part of a wonderful Derby family! I can't say enough about how amazing everyone is!
