I bought my condo at La Galleria about ten years ago. It used to be a really great place to live, good location, great building amenities.
But over the years it's really changed, and not for the better. The association is slow to fix amenities in the building that are not used by the majority of the residents. The hot tub has been broken now for going on 4 years with no sign of any repair being undertaken. The place has a pool but it is never heated, and is usually so cold that it can't be used except on the hottest days of the year.
The condo association is not very helpful to residents who don't constantly stay on them about resolving issues. Security staff is hit or miss, with some security guards doing their job, while I've seen other guards asleep at the front desk. Or they will randomly let up visitors without notifying the resident that a guest or food delivery has arrived.
They've also been consistently increasing the home owners dues every year and yet this increase isn't reflected in building maintenance. There isn't one month that goes by where the water in the building isn't turned off at least once, sometimes twice a month for repairs. This has been going on every month for the last two years.
The residents have also changed from being tolerant and welcoming to being largely intolerant of even the slightest disturbance. In the last few years I've had several complaints filed against me by residents.
The level of complaints caused me to have to give up my dog for adoption to avoid getting fined for noise complaints, despite the fact that the noise occurred only during business hours while I was away at work.
Other residents are clearly unfriendly if you don't fit into the proper social appearance, and by that I mean if you're a tee shirt and jeans type of person, you can expect to have the other residents do things like not holding the elevator for you even when they see you coming with an arm load of groceries.
All said and done, living here has become a disappointing experience, and I no longer feel welcome in the home I paid for. I'm honestly regretting having purchased here.
