My husband and I wanted to try something new, and I discovered this on a list that at one time was created on Citysearch. I checked the website out and found out once a month (I believe) they have a Saturday day they open up to the public to try out curling. I wasn't expecting too much - I mean what can be all that exciting about sliding a really heavy stone down the ice, right? Well, it turned out to be a super fun afternoon! It costs only $15 per person, which includes some snacks, curling instructions, practice, and a final game. If you don't have a group they will place you in one, which was totally fine by us. And while we waited, we were able to watch the others, have some CHEAP drinks (3.50 for a premium drink), and play some of their games like pool, fooseball, and shuffleboard. The instructors were great, and by the end of it we wanted to join a beginners league! :) The only catch is they have waiting lists for the leagues, and there isn't too much opportunity to just go there on your own whenever you want. I do think they will do private events though, so if you are ever looking to do something fun with say your office, give this place a call! Pros: inexpensive fun, cheap cocktails, fun game room
