Review content:
I was married August 5th of 06 and had my wedding cake done by this Albertsons Bakery.\r
\r
I aproached the bakery manager (sorry I don't remember her name,) about my wedding cake idea about four weeks in advance, even giving her a picture of a very similar cake. She said it wouldn't be a problem to make it the way I wanted it. I even advised her that I had a more simple idea if my ""perfect"" one couldn't be acheived. She gave me no reason to think that the ""perfect"" one was unacheiveable. I thought my massive worries about my wedding cake was over... until my wedding day. Horror.\r
\r
I asked the cake to be on tiers; it wasn't... I asked the middle tier to be carrot with fondant, no chocolate; it had chocolate (ON CARROT CAKE?)... I asked for daisies to be drawn on the middle tier (a problem me and the bakery manager had a conversation about, her telling me it would be no problem to make daisies); they were nowhere near daisies... The fondant that was cut out in different shapes were about a 1/4 inch thick; it was supposed to be almost as thin as paper... the symmetrical design was nowhere near symmetrical... and it was completely lopsided. I cried.\r
\r
The cake looked like a two year old did it. The bakery personel told her the the bakery manager had been through some rough times in the past month... brother dying, father in the hospital, I really can't remember what else was said to her. \r
\r
When we got back home from our honeymoon, we made contact with the store assistant manager, who after about a week agreed to give us all our money back. A small gesture compared to the anguish is caused on what was supposed to be my perfect day.\r
\r
I had ample time to get another bakery to do my cake if I would have been let known that my cake at the Albertson's bakery was compromised by someone's personal problems. People say I am lucky that the cake was the only terrible thing that happened on my wedding day, but they were not in my shoes.
Pros: Cake tasted great
Cons: Cake looked horrible, not let known about problems
