Review content:
After being a loyal customer for 6 years at the Jackson Cottage Inn location I ordered a pizza delivery from them as usual on 07/29/2011, and the nightmare started.
The following Tuesday terrorizing phone calls started, calling me a thief and saying Cottage Inn stated I used this man's credit card fraudulently for my pizza, which was paid for with cash. Apparently the co-owner of the local cottage inn franchise spoke with the gentleman whose card was stolen. Because my last name was similar the cottage inn co-owner gave my information out, including my phone number and address, as the order where the stolen card was used, even though this was not true at all and due diligence with a quick check of my account would have shown this.
I had to call the police to stop the harassment, and the gentleman who believed I stole his card kept calling and threatening that someone was coming to get me right now, I was going to jail, and that I would get what was coming to me for using his card. These calls started at 11:18 at night and continued at one to three minute intervals.
For two days my entire family lived in fear, because the police could not contact the man calling and explain that I was not the person who stole his card and that Cottage Inn had made a mistake. My pregnant daughter could not stop looking out the windows, and no one got much sleep in the living room.
When I contacted cottage inn I was told that a mistake was made and that there was no malicious intent. The co-owner who gave out my information seemed to think I was unreasonable for being terrified and very upset.
I have been a cottage inn customer for 6 years, and have recommended this as the best pizza place in town. That is no longer the case, and I will make sure that the customers know just how their personal and private information is used carelessly and without any regard to the consequences.
In my case the entire situation happened because the co-owner of cottage inn here in jackson did not bother to verify any facts or information before not only giving out my private and sensitive information but implying that I used a stolen credit card, which was completely false, and causing me and my family to be harassed and terrorized by the person that this false information was provided to.
