This was the worse hospital I've ever been to. My husband almost didn't make it out alive. He coded twice and had to be transported back to a real hospital to get stable again. The only reason he survived the third stay there was that there was a family member with him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Truly, the only reason we went there was that was the only long-term care facility the pulmonologist we love went to that was close to us. They have all these fabulous ""survival"" stories on the walls (they even wanted to do one on my husband). Of course, by that time, we realized that is that if someone had survived, it wasn't because of the care they received there. It was simply horrible. The alarms were constantly going off while the nursing staff would sit around and chat about anything put patients. Of course there were several very good nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, etc., there, but they were the exceptions and not the rule. Largely, the folks working there were mediocre at best to downright incompetent at worse. If you have any other choice, don’t use this facility. They will brag to you about their “state status” and their “survival stories,” but trust me; the “PR” on their walls means nothing. This is a non-caring, horrible place to be. Pros: Close to Sun City Cons: So Many. I don't know where to start the list.
