I have been going here off and on for the past several years, as I live locally. The main reason I go here is because the price is reasonable for an oil change when I use their credit card discount. I've bought tires in the past.
But every time.... I leave with a bad taste in my mouth. Every time I come in they try to talk me into doing work on the car that I know it doesn't need. I only trust my car service to the Auto Clinic - they always do good work, at a fair price, and only tell me what I absolutely have to change. Firestone gives me a list every time I change my oil of everything I need to do fix, and they clearly are trying to take advantage of me (can we say female customer?). The last time I brought my car in for an oil change I had just completed my 70K check-up at the Auto Clinic and everything was perfect. Firestone gave me a list of $1500 worth of repairs/updates that I needed! I told them how could my car be having all of those problem, when I just got 70k fix-up and everything was replaced that needed to be.
Sheepishly.... they just said, ""Oh, sorry.... maybe not...."".
Today was just their usual dysfunction. Called ahead to make an appointment for an oil change. ""Nothing's going on.... come in anytime."" I told them my name and that I'd be there by 3pm. I arrived early at 2:30 and they said I would need to wait 1-1.5hrs until they be able to start working on my car. Really?
That was it for me. My time is too valuable. And why work with people that just want to take advantage of you, even if the price is ok.....
So I canceled my Firestone card today and wont be back.
