Review content:
I was trying to find contact info for an owner or manager of Abbott Awnings to inform them of shady sales tactics of some of their sales dept. I puchased 2 Abbott Awnings over 7 years ago and the stitching broke down recently and the fabric panels came apart at the seams. At the same time I received a letter from them asking if my awining needs replacing now and to contact them for special pricing since they still have the pattern on file. i contact Ana G. the author of the letter and after 3 calls over 2 weeks reminding her that she never responded to my request for a quotation she finally quotes me a replacement price 40% higher than I originally paid for both powder coated frame and canvas. Keep in mind I only needed the canvas replaced. When I objected to the excessive amount she offers to see what she can do. and when she responds with a lower quote she says I need to sign it immediately before she gets caught by the owner and he denies the low price. When she said she can get in trouble for such a low quote and was doing me a favor but I needed to sign the contract to lock in the price, This triggered my B.S. alarm. Not wanting to deal with a used car salesperson I contacted 2 other awning companies and each are at 50% of Ana's lowest quoatation!! I will never do business with them again and never recommend them since they are trying to screw over loyal customers as I am sure this is not the first time she has tried gouging a repeat customer. Pretty stupid sales tactic for these competitive economic times.
