Review content:
We recently had dinner at Deeter's with two friends of ours. A couple of the specials were Dover Sole and Grouper. Our two guests had the Sole and my wife opted for the Grouper. When the bill came I was shocked to see the Sole priced at $54/order. The two orders were about 5 oz each in size. The Grouper was $35, but a fairly nice sized piece of fish. The restaurant was far from full as in the old days when Deeter was there. This may be in part due to the expansion, but also due to some of the exorbitant prices. We didn't say anything in front of our guests, but my wife called later and was told it was imported fish, the devaluation of the dollar, etc. They got me this time, but we won't be back and we've been dinning there for nearly 30 years. Beware of ""Specials"" - they're the primary profit center for this restaurant! It's too bad the new owners are ruining a once great restaurant by charging New York prices in Indiana.
Pros: Always good food, great service.
Cons: Prices are way out of line for Indianapolis
