The head honcho for Rising Star Motor in Temple City, CA is RyanHo. He's just the absolute greatest, honest and nicest guy you can ever find. You need a good mechanic because they're one of the commodities in your life. \r

I was wary at first, naturally, of mechanics but after meeting him a couple of times it became apparently clear that he is trustworthy, highly experienced and a no-nonsense. He'll tell right on your face to junk that piece of sh** car you're trying to fix and get a new one. He'll also help you find a new car. \r

I'm not sure this guy wants your money at all, I mean, i have to haggle with him to do work on my car. I modify / tune cars, and in his eyes its a waste of money to replace something that is not broken. This guy is so honest, you actually have to convince him to work on your car. He will go out of his way to make you happy, which i keep on telling him don't do that, because i've seen customers take advantage of him.\r

My relationship with Ryan is now more than just customer-mechanic, I consider him as a friend because that is how he treats me. Hi staff they are just as nice, they're all ASE certified. \r

Ryan specializes in Mitsubishi but knows and does work on all kinds of cars including import, domestic, luxury, sports, trucks - all kinds, and has built numerous race / sports cars for his customers. He has hook-ups on all kinds of parts and services from turbo kits, spark plugs, body kits to wiper blades. He's saved me a good $5000-7000. His clientele base ranges from porsche drivers to broke ones like me.\r

I've dealt with a lot of mechanics because I've always either been driving junk cars that breaks down all the time or sports cars that I modify (that eventually breaks down) and Ryan is by far the best I've ever dealt with. His prices are good, his ethics is impeccable, and most importantly his work is excellent. I'm surprised that no one has left a review yet. Rising Star Motor is Temple City's best kept secret.
Pros: Honest service, fast, no-nonsense, no pressure shopping.
Cons: Hidden shop: if you've never been there, you'll miss the entrance the first time. Guaranteed!
