Review content:
I am writing this review as a former host family with US Aupair. My children are currently ages 16, 15, and 12 so it has just been in the last couple of years that we have stopped hosting an aupair. Many years have gone by since we welcomed our first aupair in 1997 but we are happy to say that we have so many friends in other parts of the world that we could have never connected with if it were not for this program and for that I am forever grateful. And while on a couple of occasions we did find ourselves in situations where we needed to find an aupair on short notice, Helene always took care of us and found someone to meet our needs. In short, hosting an aupair has been such a wonderful experience that I hope someday my future grandchildren will also get to enjoy.
I thought our experience acting as a host family was so valuable that I wanted my children to gain similar insights; so when my daughter was ready to look at an exchange program I decided to contact our former aupair agency to get some recommendations. After working with Helene and US Aupair for so many years I knew that she could point me in the right direction and even though I was no longer a customer she would be willing to help.
Helene put me in touch with a school called Rapididiom in Toulon, France. At first I was a bit nervous about sending my daughter several thousand miles away but, that hesitation was greatly diminished due to the fact that one of our former aupairâ??s lives only an hour and twenty minutes away from my daughterâ??s host family. I knew that if anything happened that Alex would be there to assist me in any way she could. Also, in speaking with the owner of the language school, I knew that she would place my daughter with a family that was open to an exchange program and would look forward to hosting a 16 year old American. It probably did not hurt that Helene made a few phone calls on my behalf to make sure everything went smoothly, much the same way she did when placing aupairâ??s with our family.
So even though our years of hosting aupairâ??s are behind us, we are still reaping the benefits of working with Helene and US Aupair.
