Talladega was my first NASCAR racing experience and I wasn't disappointed. We began our weekend by arriving Friday afternoon in the at track camping. There was plenty of room for our group and our gear. The facilities for showering were nearby and well maintained considering the enormous size of the crowds. After unloading, we headed up to the track to the souvenir stands. There was something for everyone. We then purchased the qualifying pass and headed inside. It was a general admission pass so we were able to sit right up on the track and literally feel the cars go by. I took lots of great pictures of the cars both on the track and waiting for their turn to qualify. We were treated to concerts both Friday and Saturday night that were part of our camping admission. On Saturday we attended the Busch race and it was an experience of a lifetime. On Sunday we were apart of NASCAR history when the fans showed their opinions on Jeff Gordon winning by pelting the track with trash. The next morning we awoke before dawn to make our way back home. The traffic was a little bit heavy at that time, but nothing could dampen our spirits, not even the rain that started the night before.
