My husband tried to surprise me on my 40th birthday with a couples massage at Eva's. Not only did he have to pay a deposit (have you heard of such a thing? tacky!) but 1. They told us to show up early to fill out paperwork and then weren't open at said time so we waited, 2. One of the masseuse's didn't even show up! 3. As i was filling out the paperwork I overheard the receptionist on the phone telling (I assume the masseuse) that she had an massage appointment (this was 5 minutes before our massage was supposed to begin!) 4. Then we got many dishonest excuses (she'll be here any minute, she had car trouble, she's coming from Minneapolis, it will be 10 minutes). We waited A HALF AN HOUR!
We finally got our 'deposit' back and left, without any sort of offer of discounted or free future services even though she knew this was my 40th birthday and a special occasion.
If it is a special occasion you definitely cannot count on class here. So upsetting.
