Businiess name:  Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub

Review content:
A favorite local pub/eatery loses the plot! As others have mentioned food OK, hit or miss really, service is just OK, and not friendly even when you are a regular like me. I have been a loyal customer (and introduced many new clients to the place) at Waxy O'Connors, Irish Pub Restaurant, on 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale, for 15+ years, Approximately two months ago, I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. The manager on duty, Victoria (many attempts to get her last name have been unsuccessful!), told me I should finish my wine and leave. I was not welcome on the premises because I had accused someone of pulling a gun on me, and called the Sherriff to their location, which they did not appreciate, 'They did not appreciate the police attention' were her words. I told her she was mistaken, and she said there were several people present who had identified me as the woman, and I should leave after I finished my wine. Suffice to say, it was not me. I actually was able to tell her I had been having dinner at another location on the date in question. Her response was, ' does not mean you did not come here afterwards!'. I then took the initiative to call the Broward Sheriff's office to inquire about the incidence at Waxy""s. They confirmed I was not the party involved. When I shared my information with Victoria, she acquiesced that she 'might' have been mistaken, but I still needed to leave the premises and was not welcome back! That evening I had just accepted a position as a Chef on a private yacht, and was to meet owners and new crew, for a celebration. I averted possible career ending situation by changong plans and directing the group elsewhere. I have contacted the owner, Mark Rohleder, several times. Despite a promise to look into the incident, and get back to me,he has not gotten back to me. Continuous attempts to reach him have been unsuccessful. Tonight I spoke with manager on duty, Connor, who claimed to have no knowledge of this, and did not know (Manager) Victoria's last name (!). I have been accused wrongly, this is slander, and because this location is integral to getting work in my industry, I am asking for help. Apparently the owner does not think it warrants any attention. I still await a response from owner/management...not a place I recommend. Try The Field on Griffin Road, MaGuire's on Andrews Ave instead of this place...
