A must stop when you are in the Santa Barbara California area. It is on Linden Street, the main drag in Carpenteria, 5 minutes south of Santa Barbara. This place has been making chocolate candies and fudge for 50 years, and has a large seletion. They also stock some of the old 50s candies, and have a cold case with a large selection of sodas from obscure brands. They also make those old fashioned creamy colored flat mints that were at every fancy celebration back in the 50s and 60s. These mints were selected for the presidential inaugration in 1985 (OK, bad president, but GOOD mints!). They also stock the liquor filled, chocolate flavored small round candies made by Koppers in Europe. The orange peel ones are my favorite, but the Amaretto ones and Apricot ones are great too.
