I went to them, unsure of what to expect, because I needed a miracle. A year ago, I had purchased a bridesmaid dress. The wedding was this month, and last month, I realized that it had become far too small. It could not be solved by simply taking out some of the extra fabric in the dress. Ann Taylor also discontinued the color, so there was no replacement alternative available.
A friend of mine recommended Silhouttes, and I brought my dress to them. The dress was an unusual seafoam green chiffon, so I was very hesitant that they would be able to find an exact match.
Two days before I had to leave to travel for the wedding, and I went in for my fitting. They couldn't find an exact color match, so they created their own fabric by overlaying different chiffon fabrics. It was seamless and perfect. Not only that, but they tailored the dress for me such that it fitted perfectly, better than it ever had before (thank you Ann Taylor for focusing only on super tall people!). The dress was beautiful and it looked especially made for me. The seams were beautiful and professional, and no one could even tell that I had extra panels added! The people at Silhouettes were wonderfully professional and accommodating of my emergency situation. I can't think of anyone else to go to for my tailoring needs now, even though I live in Queens and I have a dry cleaner/tailor on the first floor of my apartment building!
