What a ripoff. Called on Wednesday and was given an appointment for between 2-4 Thursday. Toilet was running and a leaky pipe. 4:30 came, still no plumber or phonecall. Called and was told they were running late and would call me right back. 5:30 came, still no word. Left a message at 7:00 pm asking for a callback. Following day, no callback, called again. Was told someone would be out between 11-1. Plumber finally showed up at 11:30. Was quoted around $200 to fix toilet and leaky pipe. Fixed plastic clapper on toilet, maybe a $5 part. Told my wife he couldn't fix the pipe because it was brokes and not attached to the water line, thet could come put the pipe elsewhere for $275-$325, fair enough. Gave my wife the bill for replacing the plastic clapper on the toilet, $170.31. 10 minutes work and a $5 part for $170. She told him it was a ripoff, but he said that was the price, so she paid him. I called later and was told that was the correct price, and was told it was. I explained I was quoted $200 including fixing the pipe which didn't get fixed and was told the pipe repair was only $30 and the plastic clapper was actually $170. What a joke, $170 for a piece of plastic and 10 minutes labor. I must be in the wrong profession.
