Terrana’s is a fabulous place. I went for the first time yesterday, and it must be the best deal in all of Bergen County for those who love Italian food. The place is tastefully decorated, yet a friendly and cozy atmosphere. When you open the menu, you immediately note the good variety of food and that the prices are fair. Once you order and eat, however, you realize what a bargain they offer! The sizes are sumptuous but not overbearing. The tastes are surprisingly delicate and prepared to preserve the original tastes of the ingredients. Even if you order a tomato-based dish, mussels for example, you can enjoy the original taste of the mussels. All of their seafood was fresh and exquisitely prepared to bring out the goodness of their original tastes. The Stuffed Mushrooms and Clams Oreganate, dishes I normally don’t order because they taste the same wherever you eat them, were out of this world. Hand made from scratch, no doubt with skilled hands. They have enough appetizer dishes that you can easily make it an Italian Tapas night, which we did, with several different bottles of wines among the 6 of us. The wait staff is very attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. And to top it off, it is a BYOB with no corkage fee! They even give you an ice bucket on a stand! The Champagne flutes are decent but the wine glasses are thick and more like water glasses, so if you care about the glasses, take your own. I’m not sure if I’m doing a smart thing revealing this place to everyone, but if you haven’t tried, you must. I just hope I don’t end up having to be waiting for a table next time. It’s one of those deals you want all to yourself but can’t help sharing!
