Stay away!!!! Old Boats and old equipment. $205.00 a day boat rental ends up costing me almost $450.00 for 1 day on the reef. The gas gauge was broken, the dept finder was broken, The anchor broke off the old rotten anchor rope, and The motor was worn out, so it was not enough power for the 21' boat. One staff member told us it usually cost between $50.00 - $100.00 for gas to go out to the reef and fish for the day. Before we returned, we filled the tank up till the gage said it was full this took 15 minutes to fill and cost $40.00 @$3.95 per gallon. We returned the boat (around 3 miles away) Now the gas hand showed it was half full, So the owner filled the tank up and charged me $5.00 per gallon for a total of $190.00 and it only took him only 5 minutes. We had to take his word for the amount of gas he put in. The staff member said it was my fault because I should have returned the boat when I noticed the gas gage was broken, but we didn't know it broken until she told us it was. This gas scam they run on people from out of town is a very bad way to make money off people that don't have time or money to sue them. The next day I met a Sheriff's deputy and his response was o'well you can take them to court and then he turned and walked off without even a ""kiss my _ss"" response. Marathon _ucks, stay away it's not a friendly place!!!!
