A friend referred us to Skewers as unique dining spot. From the first 5 seconds we walked in the door, we were greeted warmly by a professional host. She offered to seat us at the bar (small, but clean) as she would get a table ready for us. We were immediately offered service by another server, who was behind the bar. No full alcohol, but the wine selection offered by the glass more than made up for it. We started with a delicious Sauvignon Blanc, and were then approached by the host to inform us that our table was ready. The server(bartender) asked if we were ready to be seated...and then offered to ""transfer"" the check to our table. Very calm, easy-going, and attentive....we already felt that we were in a more urban city with a more cultured night-life. After being seated and offered the menus, our server arrived within a minute. She greeted us and said she was ""Carmen"". She noticed we had drinks and went ahead and discussed the chef's features of the evening. We were intent on looking at the menu and were rewarded with knowledgeable, precise descriptions of the items discussed. We then proceeded to an unbeatable dining experience that thrilled my palate. The extensive menu will make it only more likely that we will drive to Melbourne to enjoy this unique gem sooner.
