Review content:
My husband and I dine out several times a week. On Saturday evening 3/24/07, we visited Casey's Grill. We attempted to place our order with a foreign waitress having difficulty with the English language. When our two bottled beers turned up as drafts, we knew the ordering process was not understood. We carefully proceeded to order an appetizer, two salads and two entrees - a NY Strip Steak and a Prime Rib. When the waitress brought the appetizer and salads to the table at the same time, we asked her not to put the steak order on until we finished our appetizer. Within two minutes, our steaks arrived. We were eating our appetizer, still had our salads to eat, and we watched our pricy steaks getting cold. My husband asked to speak with a manager. After quite some time, a young gentleman wearing a dishwasher's apron approached us asking what we needed. We explained that all our food had arrived at the same time and our steaks were already cold. The defensive manager proceeded to tell us that he couldn't possibly keep an eye on the waitressess while he was working in the kitchen. He continued to tell us that he just makes sure that the food gets out of the kitchen, not when it gets on the table. We explained that we had asked the waitress not to bring the steaks out because we already had our appetizer and salads to eat. He went on to tell us that he did not bear any of the responsibility at all for all of the food being brought to the table at once. Nor did he consider the waitress responsible. After questionning the validity of this man being the actual restaurant manager, we chose not to continue debating with him and just asked for the check. NOTE: After the manager and waitress left our table, other patrons told us of their difficulties with the foreign waitress as well. These other patrons also witnessed, first hand, that telling the manager about it was useless. TOO BAD.
