Review content:
I ordered what was supposed to be 'high end' custom bunk beds, based on the website and a conversation with Mr. Utley, in Dec. 2006. What I received was very substandard in both construction as well as design. The ladders for the beds had fallen apart in shipping because the screws used to put them together were too small, the cuts to the wood did not match up properly, there were metal supports used in construction that we had to replace because they had sharp, exposed edges, and no instructions for assembly were provided. When I contacted Mr. Utley about these issues, he initially was cordial but became belligerent; he did provide us with some additional materials which we used to reinforce the beds, but ultimately we had to spend over $1,000 more to have a professional woodworker make these beds (one twin over queen, one twin over twin) usable. We were extremely disappointed at not only the quality of workmanship but the lack of customer service when we called to discuss the issue. I would strongly advise potential customers to look elsewhere.
