Best guinea pig veterinary surgeon in Tampa Bay!! Dr. Bonsack surgically removed a huge stone from the urethra of my 4.5 year old female guinea pig. Within 15 minutes of turning off the isoflurane anesthetic gas she was running around, eating, urinating and defecating normally.\r
Dr. Bonsack is experienced in treating guinea pig diseases, dental care, taking x-rays without using anesthesia and most importantly in preventing diseases. He is the only vet in the Tampa Bay Area that provides preventative worming for guinea pigs. Routine worming not only kills internal and external parasites but also restores the natural balance of the gut flora. Many of my guinea pigs live to be 7 years old and older. I feel this is due to the great care that they get from Dr. Bonsack and because they get wormed every 3 months. \r
Pros: Best guinea pig vet, fees are very reasonable, educates his clients, never rushes an examination, has Saturday morning appointments
Cons: He does not work on Sundays and Mondays. He gives his hard working and friendly staff 2 days off work.
