I was very nervous about going to this shop after reading some of the reviews, some of them where great don't get me wrong, but some where..well not so great. But in the end i decided to give Cameo Bridal's a chance. And i must say, i don't regret it. As a very self-conscious seventeen year old, dress shopping is definitely not my forte. I prefer vans and a comfy pair of jeans over fancy frilly dresses any day. Add the fact that many reviews said that they're daughters ended up leaving crying for days, well, i was quite skeptical. Let me just say this, throw your doubts out the window.
I stepped foot into this shop and was greeted by the kindest lady. Mind you she was not the owner (Monica, i do believe her name is) but she was just as proud of the business as the owner herself and showed it through her conduct. I was greeted with a smile, and allowed to explain what i needed. After telling her the date of my senior prom, she directed me toward the dresses and offered a size that she thought i would fit. I browsed and she stood off to the side, completely unobtrusive, which i really genuinely appreciated. When i inquired about being able to try on more than a few dresses at a time she said of course, and so my family chose 4 dresses for me to try on. She helped me with the zippers (of which i wouldn't have been able to handle on my own) and allowed me time to find what i didn't like or did like about each dress. She gave me little pieces of advice about each before i finally settled on one, and when i had finally chosen one she allowed me to try it on once more just to make sure. She then directed me to the earrings and showed me some that would go well with my dress. I had a bit of trouble when it came time to pay, due to the fact that my sister lives in Hawaii and had wanted to pay for the dress. So it took a couple tries for us to finally realize that her paying through the phone was not working. But she wasn't bothered by that at all and was patient throughout the whole process. We did end up buying the dress before leaving the shop thanks to my moms quick thinking. Before i left i was granted the privilege of meeting the owner, Monica, herself. She was a very kind woman, and very proud of her store. I told her of the reviews i had heard about and my aforementioned worries, but quickly explained that those bad reviews where wrong. I had a wonderful experience, and the dress i purchased was extremely beautiful. I definitely don't regret going there and would recommend it to anyone. The customer service is wonderful and the dresses themselves are of the utmost beauty. Don't hesitate to take your daughters there if they want to browse for beautiful gowns and receive valuable advice when choosing a gown for their special occasion. I will definitely go back if ever given the chance.
