I first visited Marche' for my birthday as a gift from a friend-and I loved it. I planned to visit the restaurant often, the prices were affordable and the food was great. I visited the establishment the next week and it was awful. The server was rude and not very attentive. I order a dessert that was absolutely awful, it seemed to have been cooked days before it was serve-in turn I advised the waiter that I did not want it and was it possible to get something else. He had already brought the ticket and seemed to be very upset that he had to charge me .75 more cent for the difference in the price of the dessert. It seemed to me that the dessert was so old that they could spot me the 75 cent for the inconvience but they did not. As if that was not bad enough about the ticket the waiter then snatched the plate out of my hand to take back the hardened rock they called blondie. It took longer to get the dessert than to get my actual main course. The server then sent someone else to bring it to me but he followed within seconds to bring the check. We paid the check and proceeded out of the restaurant. We were then abruptly chased out of the restaurant by the General Manager. She wanted to know if everything was okay and we said yes. She then proceeds to tell us that our tip did not indicate that everything was okay. We gave a tip of 14% of the whole ticket-etiquette clearly states that you tip 15% of the price of the food not on drinks, so if we tipped 14% of the total ticket I know we were okay. I have never been disrespected in such a way. We have complained to the restaurant but no response has been given. I am telling everyone I know that if unless you want to be treated poorly do not set foot in there door. I commend the cooks because they are keeping the place open because if it was up the wait staff the place would have closed before they even opened. For a bunch of people who try to be the upper crest they surely don't know much about etiquette. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!
