Review content:
I will start by saying that I have eaten in over 100 sushi places all over the world in the last 30 years. I consider my self a sushi expert. And for that matter a very picky eater. I am also very health conscious. I have a rule, never eat in a place that smells fishy. When my wife and I walked in we smelt fish, but since she is Asian, it didn't bother her. So she convinced me that since it was so highly rated in citysearch, we should give it a try. So, we sat down and ordered a California roll, yellowtail sashimi, 1 small beer and 1 7up. I had one piece of California roll and realized where the fish smell was coming from. I spat it into a napkin and tried one of the 4 tiny pieces of yellow tail. It was ok, but not as good as everyone seems to say. I asked for the check and it was $28.36!!! Holy 100-dollar bills batman, what if I would have eaten the normal amount of sushi? I would have had to have my visa titanium!!!! The place is a rip off. I would not recommend it to my cat, much less any human being. We headed back to Tokyo town and ate at Komasa. Had to wait but it sure was good. And by the way we had at a Teriyaki Salmon dinner, 2 8 Piece Yellow tail sashimi, 2 yellowtail sushi, spicy tuna roll, regular tuna roll, those Japanese soybeans, California roll, 2 miso soups, 1 large beer and 1 7up and a couple of other orders of sushi I can?t remember right now. Anyway, the total bill was 68 bucks (I could actually afford to pay cash!!), and I left an 11 dollar and change tip! I tried to get them entered into city search but it never happened. Don't know why. In conclusion, I have to say that I have depended on city search to show me the best places in the LA area. This is the first time the site failed. I really hope it doesn't happen again.
Pros: The place looked good. Very few customers so was seated fast. Maybe that was a warning.
Cons: Smelled fishy and the california roll was the worst I have ever eaten. Too expensive and had to climb 3 stories just to get ripped off.
