I wish I could give this place ZERO STARS, one star is being generous. I am so disappointed in my lunch experience today. I work in the area and used to eat at Safari Miles at least once every couple of weeks. After my meal today, I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. I simply asked the waiter if there was some way to add a side of fried shrimp to the fried oyster lunch special (which I have done several times in the past for an additional charge.) After he checked with the owner, Maria, he informed me that it was not on the menu and so they did not have to serve it. I said, ""Oh well, that's stupid. I guess I'll just take the oysters."" When the oysters arrived they were so over cooked and over breaded they were crunchy and I had to pick the breading off, but ate them anyways because I was starving. As I was doing this, Maria came to the table and asked if we had a problem. I told her that my only problem was that they wouldn't give me the side of shrimp and she started yelling at me saying they don't have to do anything not on the menu, etc. etc. I said that I understood that but that but that I really didn't appreciate her being so rude and coming over to interrupt my lunch. I worked in customer service for years and waited tables as well in college so I know how stressful the job can be. She continued to get upset, was mumbling all kinds of things under her breath, giving me dirty looks and stormed off, saying she ""has to make a living"". The waiter was very nice and apologetic but I could here this crazy woman yelling in the kitchen. She then proceeded to write up the waiter, but I don't know why because he was only telling me what she said. When the waiter came back to ask me how my food was I told him that the oysters weren't very good and to see if he could get them comped. I didn't realize Maria was the owner at this point and so she comes storming back yelling at me in the dining room saying ""Why did you eat them if they weren't good?"" and I said, ""Because I was hungry!"" So she said I ate they oysters so I would have to pay. I figured, ""Oh well, worth a shot, I'll just never eat here again."" When I went to pay, another man came storming out from the back and started yelling ""Do we have a problem here??!"" and I said, ""Yes we do have a problem, this is the worst I've ever been treated in a restaurant, I was just trying to enjoy my lunch, etc."" Then he goes and starts yelling at the waiter and FIRES HIM ON THE SPOT despite myself and several other guests testifying on the waiters behalf. When I told him that it was the woman Maria and not the waiter he started yelling that it was his wife. Meanwhile the whole dining room is watching them act crazy just dumbfounded by the whole thing. Long story short, while the food is mediocre and inexpensive, the fact that these people are so rude and offensive to their customers and obviously treat their employees terribly and this should be enough to drive them out of business. If they're so concerned with making a living that they can't add a side of shrimp (for a charge!) maybe they should be more concerned with how they treat their customers! Pros: nothing Cons: everything
